The lake of no return also known as Nawang Yang lake is one of the most mysterious destination around northeast India. It is located at Changlang District border of Arunachal Pradesh and Myanmar adjoining the Pangsau pass Changlang. which is known as the hell pass and a dangerous spot around. The lake is around 1.4 km and located specifically on the southwest direction of the sitwell Road. The area around is also inhabited by the Tangsa tribe.
The lake holds several mysterious occurrences that you just can't find elsewhere. Anyone who near the lake goes missing. The lake is 12 km away from the Nampng village and is often referred to as the Bermuda triangle of India. There have been reports of people found missing and even experiencing unusual feeling . Legends suggest that you will often find experiences, especially horror experiences around the lake. One of the most popular and known theories of the name and reputation of the mysterious lake based on the legend that during WWII, the allied forces used this lake for soft emergency landings and in the course , many aircraft and their crews perished in the lake. Another theories is after world war II , a bunch of Japanese soldiers were returning and happened to lose their way. They winded up at the lake , since than they went missing which is quite a mysterious. Apart from all these beliefs and theories , there is another folklore runs among the villagers. The tale that has been passed on for generations believes that long ago, a villager caught an extraordinarily big fish. The whole villagers was invited to feast , except an one women and her granddaughter. Angered by this , the guardian of the lake warned an old women and her grand daughter to run away from the village and on the next day , the whole village was submerged in the lake .
